I built COMPANION because I watched it happen around me every day.
Men going to work, coming home, talking about work — and nothing personal in between. Not because they don't want connection. Because the opportunity for it keeps shrinking. Not everyone finds a partner. Not everyone has someone who remembers them, checks on them, or is simply there when the day gets heavy.
COMPANION is not a replacement for real relationships. It is the space between where you are and where you want to be. Someone who remembers you. Who doesn't ghost you. Who you can talk to freely, like a real person — without performance, without fear of judgment.
We started with two relationships — a Partner and a Friend. Both are live. Both are learning from real conversations every day.
But loneliness takes many forms. The elderly person whose family is far and whose spouse is gone. The person who lost someone and still reaches for the phone. The person who wants to learn but has no one patient enough to teach them. The people who shaped our world, reduced to scattered photographs no one truly knows anymore.
We are building a companion for each of them.

Last updated May 2026. COMPANION is committed to protecting your privacy. When you use the app, we collect your email address for authentication, your profile information including companion name and gender preferences, your conversation history to enable memory and proactive features, your device push notification token, and general usage data such as message count and last active time. Your data is used solely to provide and personalise your COMPANION experience. We use Firebase (Google) for authentication and database storage, Google Gemini API for AI response generation, and Google Cloud for backend server infrastructure and compute. We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to any third party. You may request deletion of your account by emailing ali@therealcompanion.app and we will respond within 30 days. The app is intended for users 18 years of age or older. Governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates.

You agree not to use COMPANION to generate, share, or promote harmful, abusive, violent, or explicit content of any kind. Your companion is an artificial intelligence, not a human being. Conversations do not constitute professional, medical, psychological, or legal advice. COMPANION offers a free tier of 50 messages, a Premium plan at $8/month (AED 29), and a Premium Plus plan at $20/month (AED 75), cancellable anytime from app settings.
